olive oil

equipment

preparation

1. Prepare the fish

Wash the fish and pat dry.

Rub inside and out with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

2. Add herbs and lemon

Fill the belly of the fish with lemon slices, garlic and fresh herbs.

Optionally, you can add some vegetables around the fish to cook a side dish at the same time.

3. Wrap in aluminum foil

Place the fish in a large piece of aluminum foil and wrap it tightly, but not too tightly. Make sure the foil is sealed well to prevent the juices from leaking out.

4. Cooking on the grill or camping stove

Place the foil packages directly on the grill grate or over the camping stove.

Cook over medium heat for approximately 10-15 minutes per side (depending on the size of the fish).

The fish is ready when the meat comes away easily from the bones and is nice and juicy.

5. Serve

Enjoy the fish straight from the foil – this way everything stays nice and warm and juicy.

Bread, potatoes or simply fresh salad are suitable as a side dish.

Why this recipe is perfect for camping

1. Easy preparation: The fish can be seasoned and prepared at home.

2. Little washing up: Everything is cooked in the aluminum foil – no pots or pans needed.

3. Versatile: You can vary the ingredients according to your preferences, e.g., add other herbs or vegetables.

4. Healthy and delicious: Fresh fish and herbs offer a light, healthy meal with lots of flavor.

Tips for the perfect result

Fresh fish: If you can't get fresh fish locally, vacuum-packed versions are also suitable.

Extra flavor: Add a small splash of white wine or a touch of butter to the foil.

Safety: Make sure the grill or camping stove is stable and turn the packages carefully to avoid tearing.

With this recipe for grilled fish in aluminum foil, you'll bring enjoyment and adventure to your camping trip. Whether by the lake, in the forest, or on the mountain – freshly prepared fish in nature is a real highlight! 🐟
